Job Introduction
Shared Service Senior Officer – 1 Post (Grade 5 from £28,598 to £31,022)
We have an exciting opportunity to join our high performing Benefits Team at East Staffordshire Borough Council. As we prepare for the imminent launch of a new integrated Revenues & Benefits system, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated professional to play a key role in delivering high quality Benefits services to our residents.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in Benefits administration who are looking to further develop their career and contribute to the delivery of a modern, efficient and customer-focused service.
This role will provide hands-on experience in:
- Processing and assessing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support claims in line with current legislation and local policy
 - Managing caseloads effectively and meeting statutory deadlines
 - Communicating clearly with customers, colleagues and stakeholders both verbally and in writing
 - Investigating and resolving complex benefit queries and overpayments
 - Using regulations to support accurate decision making and reporting
 - Supporting the implementation of new systems and working methods
 - Contributing to service improvements and helping deliver an efficient, customer-focused service
 - Demonstrating strong organisational and problem-solving skills whilst working under pressure.
